Documenting the Heart of Sanctuary, this project will open up an unspoken dimension of humanity that needs to be amplified within the current national discourse surrounding the undocumented in our communities and asylum-seekers crossing the border who are demonized, criminalized and dehumanized. This dimension rests in the principle cultivated and guarded as sacred within faith institutions. While embodied in symbols and enshrined in physical spaces, sanctuary moves beyond to exist within our hearts extended to cover and serve the undocumented with compassion, justice and integrity.
